森林火灾是一种全球性的变化力量，近年来，在天气、气候和人类活动的影响下，森林火灾的燃烧面积和严重程度都在增加，对气候和生态环境系统等具有重大影响。本文汇集了近期发表在AGU期刊上的与森林火灾相关的研究。
森林火灾产生的风力堪比超级单体雷暴
根据GRL上的一项新研究，大规模森林大火灾火产生的热量足以产生强大的上升气流，其强度与在龙卷风形成的超级单体雷暴中观测到的强度相当。气象雷达数据显示，这些上升气流的强度可达209公里/小时，在地表以上延伸数公里，可引发由火灾引发的雷暴，并对飞行中的飞机构成威胁。
